BMW M3 Competition G80 (English Version)

Don't judge a book by its cover.

Even though, the taste and design preference remain dependable on people's opinion and preferred style.

Anyway, allow this simple blogger to introduce the latest generation of M3 Competition.

Judge her with how beautiful the Isle of Man Green is and the Powerplant beneath it. We'll see it when you scroll it.

First impressions?

Uniquely stand out thanks to the newly designed Double Kidney Grille.

The front look felt revolutionary, due to the extreme design approach compared to some of the BMWs in the past. And it still, looks like a BMW. Albeit, the latest design become the most emotional and expressive I've ever seen. Not only in looks but also in social media, where people either hate it or love it.

What does the front end look like?

BMW Laser Light is still in play and still manages to brighten your vision up to 600 meters. It's hard not to overlook the newly designed Double Kidney Grill which still has a BMW feel, even though the reaction provoked by netizens all over the world was so strong that it sparked heated debate.

The Double Kidney Grille, which is also accompanied by an Air Intake, plays a role in aerodynamics and cooling for the air supply to this powerful engine. The front bumper also has Air Curtains to optimize aerodynamics at high speeds.

What about the side?

This is my favorite part, especially, apart from the shoulder line which still has a strong BMW aura, it still feels muscular compared to its coupe sibling, the more subtle M4. And my preferred favorite is Sedan.

Apart from the M3 Competition badge on each fender, there are high-gloss black side sills inspired by racing cars which makes it feel sporty and fierce. Even the side mirrors were designed specifically for this M3.

This cool M-forged Wheel rim design is also able to increase its stylish aura and performance. Measuring 19" at the front, and 20" at the back. Accompanied by M Compound Brakes which are large enough to grip and slow down the car when the owner is too fast for their own good.

The wheel arches make the Shoulder Line look synchronized and beautiful.

Let's see the rear end,

The Fender curves it provides when viewed from a 3rd Person's perspective feel wide and proportional and successfully give her a racing car appeal that emphasizes sportiness with function in mind, not just a regular 3 series that has been fattened up or modified. Not to mention, there is an M Rear Spoiler which comes from Carbon Fiber.

The rear bumper consists of a Rear Diffuser which is functional, sporty, and able to accommodate the proportional quad-exhaust. Not to mention, if you look closely, the Wheel Arches that cover the 20" tires and rims feel balanced and in sync with the prominent Shoulder Line.

Don't forget the 3D L-shaped rear light design which makes it feel harmonious and harmonious, because basically, the G20 has a rear light design that has character and is pleasing to the eye anywhere.

Let's take a look at the inside, shall we?

Now she is ready to welcome you with the latest BMW Operating System 8 (OS) tailored for BMW M, shown by the different UI from the regular versions. Tbh, BMW OS 8 for M is more than eye candy and motivates you to race again and again.

Not only the new Specially Tailored for M BMW OS 8 is more appealing visually, but it also provides you with a new graphical look and more modernity.

The previous version of this blog still utilized my favorite iDrive or BMW OS ever, the BMW Operating System 7.

What amazed me is that she still has the strong sport and racing charm of a modern BMW M, while still able to maintain the premium-ness, the ergonomics of the BMW.

Good-looking is an understatement when it comes to the M steering wheel. Not only does it feel grippy when you grab it, but it also provides you with buttons that will support your ergonomics-racing feelings in your hand.

The driving position itself is undoubtedly ergonomic, like what BMW should be. Credits to the founding of BMW M and every engineer in BMW who makes this ergonomics level possible.

What about the Powerplant?

S58 Inline-6 Engine, with 3.0 Litre TwinPower Turbo (Real Twin Turbo). with 510 HP of power available at 6.250 RPM up to the redline in 7.200 RPM, accompanied by 650 NM of torque from 2.750 up to 5.500 RPM.

Acceleration from 0-100 km/h? BMW claims it only took 3,9 seconds to achieve that. Not to mention the exhausts were equipped with electronic flaps so the growl voice echoes in your heart, mind, and soul.

Combined all of those mouthwatering figures with 8-Speed M Sport Steptronic with Drivelogic. The reason for this application is that this kind of tranny is more suitable for durability than the Dual Clutch.

Another important part of the performance department is handling because M3 was well known for balance and agility.

Adaptive Suspension from BMW M can give you superb handling, and agility. Of course, accompanied by electronic control inside the more rigid chassis, DSC, and Dynamic Mode.

Inside all of those, you have Merino Seat Upholstery for the new M Seat Design with Air ventilation and the new M Sport Steering. Accompanying the M3 & M4 is the future for Drift Lovers, which is the M Drift Analyzer that functions not only to show off but to assess and measure the quality and how good your drifting really is.

Don't forget, there are also M1 & M2 buttons on the steering wheel that you can set. Standard features such as Triple Zone AC, parking sensors, and Live Cockpit are definitely there. Like every BMW in general.

Overall, the G20 itself is a beautiful chassis, now the G80 version makes her even more muscular than ever. The rear end and the Shoulder Line are my favorite parts of this latest M3 generation.

The new M3 Competition is more than ready to tackle its rivals with vengeance combined with the practicality of the 3-Series.
