Kalau udah bicara soal buku ya
ng membahas nothing but planes, menurut aku, mayoritas isinya campuran antara militer dan komersial.
Jujur aja, ketika BBW masih bergulir, buku-buku pesawat yang kucari itu adalah yang berfokus pada pesawat militer. Soalnya, sangat jarang ada buku yang bahas pesawat militer only.
Dari sekian banyak buku tentang militer yang aku cari dengan susah payah, dapatlah 1 buku yang menurutku, The best military planes book ever made.
Lemme introduce you to G-Force
1st impression, it was quite heavy yet solid when you hold it.
Setelahnya, aku merasa daftar isinya sangat menggoda karena bukan cuma US military aircraft aja yang dibahas. Ada yang dari Russia & European.
Ketika pertama kali membacanya, langsung lah aku cari pesawat idamanku, F-15 Eagle 😁.
Buku ini gak hanya berisi tentang pesawatnya saja, tetapi buku ini juga menceritakan bagaimana kinerja pesawat tersebut bagi angkatan udara negara-negara pemakainya dari perspektif pilotnya yang membuat kita seolah-olah menyatu atau ikut terbang dengan pesawat tersebut. 😍😀😁👍
Beberapa verdict pilot nya incredible and here I show some:
"The beauty of F-35's stealth is that you can see and kill the enemy before he sees you; it's very difficult to kill a BSF when you cannot see it" Verdict on F-35
"The SR-71 definitely had two distinct personalities; subsonic and supersonic. The first was quite predictable and stable; the latter always a bit of an adventure" Verdict on SR-71

"The F-117 allowed the air forces to go into places that they could never go before" Verdict on F-117

Selain itu, ada juga rubrik "Mission Report" yang isinya tentang sejarah pesawat tersebut, update mengenai pesawat tersebut, moment-moment unique yang pernah terjadi sama pesawat tersebut dan juga aktivitas pesawat tersebut sehari-hari.
Oh yes, this book is 100 percent in English. Added to the fact that this is an import book📚.
Gak cuma fighter jet aja, ada yang dari utility support nya, seperti, E-3 Sentry, P-2 Orion yang notabene adalah Flying Radar.
Gambar yang dibuat pun dikemas dengan epic, jadi kita bisa berkhayal at the highest order. Gak seperti buku-buku pesawat militer pada umumnya.
My little complaint is, there are some planes that deserve a credit, but didn't include in the book. They are Sepecat Jaguar, Hercules, Meteor.
Overall, reading this book is like the best feeling I've ever had. I've no regret spending 200k for this incredible book. This book is timeless, I feel like want to read it again, again & again 👍.
